Person-centred specialist support for long-term or clinical needs, so you can stay at home.

Complex care

What is complex care?

Complex care is person-centred specialist support for people with chronic or long-term health conditions who need extra help to manage symptoms and daily activities.

It differs from general domiciliary care because it usually involves clinical support and close working with doctors and nurses who specialise in particular conditions. Complex care can include conditions that require clinical support, such as Parkinson’s, acquired brain injury or a neurological condition. It can also be provided if someone needs nursing care as a result of their primary condition — for example, a PEG feeding tube after a stroke.

The aim is to support an individual’s needs and help them keep as much independence as possible.

Who can benefit?

Anyone living with a long-term or progressive illness or injury can benefit from complex care. Double Em Care Services Ltd will work with you to put the right level of care in place so you can live well with your condition at home.

Conditions and clinical needs we can support include:

  • Neurological conditions — including multiple sclerosis (MS), motor neurone disease (MND), Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and stroke
  • Catheter, bowel and stoma care
  • Tracheostomy care
  • Gastrostomy care, including PEG feeding
  • Acquired brain injury
  • Spinal cord injury

We take time to understand your condition and the symptoms you need support with, so care is person-centred and on your terms.
